Do you have a difficult time with quiet? Do you find yourself switching on the music or tv for background noise to fill the uncomfortable space? Unfortunately we rarely allow ourselves the luxury of stillness and quiet as we fill our moments with constant ‘noise’.
The importance of tuning out the chatter, turning off the television, and other outside noise is more important than ever in our noisy
Make the time in your day to find your quiet moments. Get in tune with your body and mind and get realigned with being able to hear yourself think. It’s time to get back in touch with the silence!
Because often It’s in the quiet space we are able to hear the messages we need to hear
Try these ideas!
*Drive to work and whenever you run errands without the radio on- break the habit of always flipping it on mindlessly
*keep social media and tv off for the first 30 mins and last 30mins of your day
*meditate occasionally without background music or guiding voices, just use following your breath to center in.
*practice being still & alone for a few moments every day
* Pause before responding out of habit or quickly, be mindful of your words and their effect
*work on holding silence for someone else to speak, be aware of how much you tend to interrupt others
*avoid talking just to fill silence with others, sometimes just being in someone’s presence can speak volumes
*Start small and give yourself gentleness and grace, working up to longer amounts of time/ any new skill takes patience & practice!
